Pretty women...
This is Lisa and her best friend Natalie. This picture was taken by Buck outside the carousel house at Riverfront Park by the river. They borrowed my camera to take engagement photos of Lisa and Buck. One of which will be put in the paper. There were many good photos but I had about three that I felt just spoke volumes about them. They weren't necessarily the best of the lot but that is okay, they are still getting scrapbooked. I have been busy with all kinds of things but mostly wedding stuff. I was able to scrapbook with Camille on Friday as she was back from her cruise. Mary is in Olympia with her daughter Jenifer and is returning home tomorrow. She will be scrapping with us on Friday as Allan and his mother are going to South Dakota for some family event. It is getting late and I have to finish hemming Sarah's "mommy" pants so I can give them to her tomorrow when we meet her for dinner so off I go...

So many things...
So much is going on right now in my life it seems I don't have enough hours in the day to do it. I also find I have been having headaches, I think from stress, quite a bit here lately. Yesterday morning it was centered over the tops of my eyes and how I hate those. It was a sinus headache and that is from allergies. It looks like it is going to be a bad year for me. Steve had to put a pig down, Cameron just wasn't making it. He tried a warm bath and to coax her into eating but no luck. So now there is just Drew and though she does seem to have scours she is doing okay. She does miss Cameron. Steve says with no one to cuddle with she is burying herself in the hay. The wedding is a mere ten weeks away and there are still a few loose ends to take care of. Sarah is now in her sixteenth week and is actually starting to look pregnant. This year seems to be going by really fast!!!
He is home...
After all the tests came back they said Uncle Robert is doing fine. They have one more test result to come back. He is eating, talking and basically back to normal. He had a subdural (sp?) hematoma and they think that may be what is causing his spells. Plus they believe he is throwing small blood clots. It isn't that he can't speak it is that he has a hard time getting the words out. My dad had an appointment he could not cancel so he drove back home to Milpitas and left my mom to take care of my uncle. I spoke to him today and he sounds good just a little tired. He said the doctor says these spells will eventually go away. I am praying that is so.

Oh, no...
I just heard from my brother Larry that my Uncle Robert has been taken into the emergency room. He has slurred speech again. Please pray for him...

Great News!!
My Uncle Robert is being released from the hospital today!! How amazing is it that you can have brain surgery on a Monday and be released three days later. I know it was all those prayers that were said in his behalf. Thank you all...
Better everyday...
The last I heard my Uncle Robert is doing really well. He even called my Dad yesterday morning and asked for his crossword puzzle book. Prayers do get answered. I have spent the last couple of days working on my class designs for next month. So I haven't been blogging much. I also took the evening off yesterday and met my sisters-in-law for dinner and laughs. I am so lucky that my brothers-in-law chose wisely when they married. When I married Steve I only had Chris as a sister-in-law. Then Lisa Eileen and last but not least Annette. These are truly wonderful ladies and I am so blessed to have them in my life.

Uncle Robert...
He is my favorite uncle. Today we had a scare. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday after church because he was unsteady on his feet and seemed a bit disoriented. They think he had a minor stroke. Upon further tests including an MRI, they found he had an aneurysm. They immediately prepped him for surgery this afternoon and after a few hours he was resting comfortably. Unfortunately the details are a little sketchy but it sounds like he is going to be fine. He is also my girls' favorite and it threw them a bit when I told them what was going on so they were very relieved to hear that he made it through surgery just fine. It is times like this when I wish I didn't live so far from my extended family.
ETA: I took this picture at Lisa's graduation from OSU in 2004, my Uncle Robert is on the far right wearing Lisa's mortar board.

Just like I said.
The weatherman reported 92 degrees for Salem at 5PM but my thermometer read 96 and it felt like it. Lisa and I went to Paper Zone and picked out the paper for the wedding announcements. While we were there we purchased the envelopes for the RSVP's and the larger envelopes as well. From there we drove over the bridge to Roth's to order her cake. I should have called because wouldn't you know it the wedding cake person, Suzie, wasn't in today and no one else could help me. That seems bizarre to me but I totally understand why it works that way. So we stopped at Starbucks for an iced latte and then headed home.
99 degrees...
Yes, it was a record breaker. 99 was what the airport reported and I am guessing it broke a hundred here as we are usually hotter by two or three degrees. The weatherman said it would be mid- eighties but it was 65 at 9:15 and it is only going to get hotter. Geez...

Record breaker...
The weatherman says 95 degrees. So it will be a scorcher and because of that I won't be doing any email or new posts on my blog. It gets too hot and I shut my computer down for the day. It is a very nice 68 degrees upstairs right now and I don't normally like this temperature but right now it feels really nice. It won't stay at this temp for long though. Stay cool everyone...

HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
Isn't it May?? Wow, it is hitting 82 degrees upstairs by my computer. I just put the fans in the windows and set them on high. Tomorrow the weatherman said it will reach 95! Again, this is May and I am totally not ready for the heat. Usually there is a build up but not this time. Sarah said they went to Best Buy last night and bought an air conditioner. Which they will need as they are in an upstairs apartment. I would love to have one but my house is so old the wiring can't handle it. I may have to hire someone to remedy that as my husband is too busy. I am trying to finish some design stuff for my classes next month but my allergies are acting up. The meds I take make me a little buzzy and I can't keep my thoughts together. So I just have my little note pad here and when I think of something that might work I jot it down and then try a little later to work things out. I am having lunch with my girls tomorrow to catch up on bridal stuff...

Busy, busy...
I hadn't realized till Angie said something about my blog that I had not posted for several days. I spent Saturday not doing much. I finished "3rd Degree" by James Patterson and my other books were ready to be picked up at the library so I did that. Grabbed a coffee and came home and started the next book in the series, "4th of July". I finished it yesterday. Oh, yes I have gotten into a reading frenzy as of late. I have to put the book down today and get my house vacuumed. Darn. I didn't get much reading done yesterday as Lisa came over and we did wedding stuff. Picking out the color swatch for the cake, talking about getting her dress hemmed, going over the questionnaire from the DJ and deciding on meeting with Jean from Willabys. Which reminds me I need to call them.
ETA: I finally took pictures of my Mother's Day gifts from my girls and their sweeties. The roses and vase were from Lisa and Buck. And it isn't to hard to guess that the other photo is of my gift from Sarah and Nate. It's my first picture of my grandbaby!

Tired and a bit groggy...
I heard from Lisa about twenty-five minutes ago. She has landed safely in Portland and was waiting for her luggage when she called. She has reservations for the Hut shuttle to get her back to Salem. The pick up point is the Red Lion Inn on Market where Buck will be waiting anxiously for her. She spent an extra day in Portland Maine because of weather issues yesterday. And though she sounded tired and groggy (prescription drugs) I could tell she was happy to be home. I can hardly wait till I see my girls tomorrow, when we will be meeting for brunch for Mother's Day.
Friday fun...
Our dear friend Julie and her husband Nathan are here visiting her mom Tami for Mother's Day. It was so fun to see them all yesterday for lunch. Camille and I had already planned to scrap so we just altered our plans to join Sarah and the Julie "crew" for lunch at the Noodle. Just about an hour before lunch Angie walked into the scrapbook store and while visiting we asked her if she would like to join us for lunch. When lunch was going to be just six it turned out to be eight with Angie and Sherry (Julies' sister) joining us. We had to wait so the staff could put together a couple of tables big enough to accommodate us. Which actually worked out okay since Sarah was late. She has lunch duty on Fridays and she has to wait for someone to get back into the office so she can leave for lunch. My guess is not everyone is conscientious and remembers other people want to have lunch too. Lunch was fun with about five different conversations going on at the same time. Julie has a new haircut which is very attractive on her. When lunch was over Angie dropped off Camille and I back at the store and we spent the rest of the evening laughing and scrapbooking.
ETA: We also found out that it was Angie's birthday. So again, Happy Birthday Angie!!

Cameron, Drew and Lucy
They have lived here at our place for a few weeks now and I still hadn't gotten any pictures of them. So you can imagine my disappointment this morning when Steve told me Lucy had died. He found this out when he went to feed them this morning. The other two pigs were still snuggling with her completely unaware that she had passed on. Camille, sorry that you didn't get to bring Jordon out before this happened but there are still two piggies left...

National Scrapbook Day...
It was a weekend event that happened at Scrapbook Fever. I joined Mary, Camille, Sarah and Janet of our regular group and Bonnie who is another VIP club member. Lots of good food, ideas, laughs and caffeine. This years event happened at the store physically so we were only able to stay till 2AM Friday and Saturday. We didn't stay that late but we had the option. Sarah is doing much better and is looking less tired too. We all won some big prizes too along with our gift bags. I managed to finish six two page kits I had laying around and started a seventh. I also managed to finish adding my embellishments to the flower book class that I took last week. I still had a few items missing but I spoke to Kelly and she will be dropping them off at the store sometime later this week. Here are some pictures I took of the ladies two of whom, Terry and Shirley we had never cropped with before. The first picture is of Sarah and Janet, the next is of Terry, Shirley and Jessica who works at the store, Camille next and then last Mary and Bonnie. And as usual Sarah didn't want her picture taken but I did it anyway. I am not real crazy about the picture so I will have to check with Susan who did manage to get some fairly decent pictures of my girl.
ETA: Lisa is working in Kittery, Maine as I write this. Columbia is opening another store.

I was wrong
I never remember that April only has thirty days. So in my last couple of posts I claimed I made the deadline to get my class info and pictures off in time. Well, that didn't happen. As I was emailing the pictures to Bud, he was sending out the newsletter without my class information. He received a brief generic description from Jessica that he used. He did say he would post the info as soon as he received it, so it should be listed very soon. I have to get it in my brain to finish my cards by the third week of the month so he has plenty of time to do his website thing. Sorry Bud.
