Sometimes it seems as though I have been sick for ages thank goodness it is finally over. I am able to eat and not be sick a half hour later, who-hoo. I have finally felt well enough to attack my housework, geez. I think that must mean I am feeling too well and should actually be scrapbooking. No, the housework needs to be done so I am almost finished with the first floor and will be moving upstairs by this afternoon. Though I do have to say I won't be doing anything up there as it will be too warm. :) I don't have air conditioning and the only time anything gets done up there is in the morning because it doesn't get unbearable till about 2PM then all bets are off. Still hoping for good news from Steve's bosses, like funding has happened. In the meantime he is on unemployment and has sent out his resume to various companies that are hiring. I don't think he will be without a job for long but in the meantime I am hoping to get some things done around here that he has been avoiding for one reason or another. Wish me luck...
Yes, it has taken three weeks but I have finally finished looking at all the scrapbook room pictures that were posted on Two Peas. Some of them are SO incredible that you have to see to believe. Many were done on a shoe string budget (one I know), some had a specific amount to spend and stayed in budget and others were really lucky and the sky was the limit. I have to say that I hadn't looked at these before I started doing my scrapbook room. Though after having finished looking on the website I am convinced that most scrappers are alike in their storage needs and have become quite ingenious with what they do. I have yet to finish but I am getting there. My goal is to finish and then take some new pictures and post them later this week.
Where else would we go but the Noodle? It was a fun evening with the family. Dinner was wonderful as always, thank you Rob and Janet. We didn't realize we had been there so long, as the restaurant had been closed for about 45 minutes so we kept the employees a bit longer than they wanted I am sure, sorry Janet. Steve and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our 21st anniversary than with our girls. This meant that Sarah and I would miss our Kat's Challenge class but it was a sacrifice we were willing to make. :)
It started Saturday night and has only gotten worse. I thought briefly that it had passed Tuesday and went to the store. Bad move, it was all I could do to get home. It started with an upset stomach and just progressed from there. Today, I figured yep it has passed so I had some oatmeal and toast. A half hour later I am thinking maybe that wasn't such a good idea. This is not fair! I need to be okay it is my anniversary and were are supposed to go to dinner with our girls.
Well once again the infamous Oregon weather had a say in Steve's return flight home. After staying in Davenport for the night the following morning the pilots flew into Yakima. He called me to say they were on their way. A fuel stop and potty break at The Dalles and then on home or so they thought. They hit a "wall" of weather that Steve didn't feel good about trying to fly into so he turned around and went back and landed at Hood River. They stayed about an hour or so and then took off again this time he made it home. He called me at about 6 to say he was at Lansem Field. Thank goodness was all I could think when I hung up the phone. Being a pilots wife, if you like to fly, is really fun I understand but I know why. These women aren't on the ground waiting to hear that their sweeties are safely on terra firma. I guess I won't know what that will be like till I get over my fear of flying, gee... On another thought; Sarah and Nate are on their way home from California. They left Julie's house in San Jose at 9AM so they should be home before too long. I can hardly wait to see my Sarah.
It seems as though Steve has been gone for a week when in fact it has only been four days. It has been pretty quiet here and I have total control of the tv remote. But I have to say it is too quiet and I do miss my sweetie. He left Friday morning to go "plane" camping with some of his pilot buddies. This is the usual time of the year that they go and the destination has been Johnson Creek in Idaho but the last couple of years there has been too much smoke from the forest fires for the intrepid pilots. So they tried Red's Horse Ranch last year and this year Cavanaugh Bay. Steve called when he got there and said it was really nice. He personally didn't have cell service but his friend Dave did so he used his phone. I have to admit that it is nice to hear that he arrives at his destination. The plan was to return yesterday but the weather prevented that from happening. They spent the night last night in Davenport, Washington and I heard from Steve at about nine this morning saying they were in Yakima. But of course the weather hasn't been to great here and I let him know. One of the guys was having some electrical problems with his plane so they were going to get that fixed before they took off again. I am hoping to see him tonight but I may have to wait another day. The picture is of N6913D that Steve sold at the end of last year. I don't have any photos of his new plane as they are all on his computer which means I am going to have to take some of my own.
